Privacy policy
This policy describes the information handled by the current public MyPotch website and the safeguards required before submission forms are enabled.
Last updated 16 July 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to visits to mypotch.co.za. It does not govern a listed business, map provider, social network or other external service reached through a link.
2. Information handled by the current release
The current public release does not provide user accounts and does not accept direct MyPotch enquiry, correction, claim or review submissions. Do not enter personal information into any unrelated URL or third-party service believing it is a MyPotch form.
The hosting platform may process normal technical request information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information and security signals. Production Analytics may also collect usage and device information when it is configured. MyPotch does not intentionally place names, telephone numbers, email addresses or message text into Analytics events.
3. Telephone and external links
When you tap a telephone, directions, map, social-media or external website link, your device or the external provider handles that action. Their privacy policies and settings apply.
4. Why technical information is used
- Deliver pages and static assets.
- Protect the website from abuse and investigate operational failures.
- Understand aggregate use and improve navigation.
- Measure whether important routes such as search and emergency information are usable.
5. Retention and access
Access to operational and analytics information should be limited to authorised maintainers and retained only as long as reasonably needed for security, troubleshooting, measurement and legal obligations. Hosting and analytics providers may process information under their own service terms and configured retention controls.
6. Future forms
Before MyPotch activates an enquiry, correction, claim or review form, the site must publish the form’s purpose, required fields, recipient, retention period, consent wording, abuse controls and privacy-request route. Recipient business email addresses must not be exposed in public source.
7. Questions, corrections and rights
Depending on applicable law and the information involved, a person may have rights to request access, correction, objection or deletion. The contact and support page identifies the channels currently available. A verified direct privacy-request channel will be published before MyPotch starts collecting personal submissions.
8. Updates
This policy will be updated when the site’s data handling changes. The date at the top identifies the current version.
