Potchefstroom Hospital staff spent 67 minutes serving patients and visitors as part of activities linked to Nelson Mandela Day.
Members of the Occupational Therapy Department, Corporate Services and the Crisis Centre worked with partners to provide coffee, soup, bread and cake at the hospital.
The activity took place on Friday, 17 July, ahead of the annual Mandela Day commemoration. The 67-minute format reflects the call for South Africans to contribute time to community service.
The hospital described the initiative as part of its commitment to patients and to practical acts of kindness. It also connected the event to the 2026 Mandela Day theme, which focused on continuing efforts to combat poverty.
