North West Cricket players, coaches, management and staff traded cricket equipment for paintbrushes as they refreshed two classrooms at the Mosaic South Africa Centre in Ikageng.
The Mandela Day project brought the organisation's team together to paint the learning spaces and make them brighter and more welcoming for the children who use them.
North West Cricket acting chief executive Tommy Phiri said the organisation's responsibility extends beyond developing successful players. He described community engagement as an important part of the organisation's identity and said even small acts of service can have a wider effect.
North West Cricket said the project formed part of its continuing relationship with Mosaic South Africa. The two refreshed rooms are used as learning and creative spaces for children at the centre.
