Learners at Vyfhoek Primary received 598 new school shoes during a community outreach programme held on Thursday, 23 July.
Love Potch coordinated the project with the Love Potch Running Team, Love Muldersdrift, NWU Health Sciences, Rachem Wellness and Mooirivier Mall. The day also included health screening and outdoor activities for learners.
The shoes were produced through the My Walk Made with Soul initiative, which converts discarded medical PVC such as drip bags, oxygen masks and tubing into school footwear.
Love Potch said funds raised through its running initiative contributed to the donation. The project linked kilometres completed by participating runners to support for children who need school shoes.
