Hoër Volkskool Potchefstroom's first rugby team defeated Merensky 35–10 in a Noordvaal Virsekerbeker crossover match at home.
Raynard de Klerk, Wian Victor, Johannes Lombard, Kyle Hattingh and Handro Jacobs scored tries for Volkies. De Klerk also converted all five tries.
Volkies won three of the four reported A-team matches. The under-15A side won 20–0 and the under-16A team won 39–20, while Merensky took the under-14A match 38–22.
The school also recorded wins for its under-14B, under-16B, third and second teams.
