The High School for Girls Potchefstroom has named its newly resurfaced hockey facility the Lesley Cowan Astro Turf.
Cowan was a former learner and teacher at the school and played a central role in the drive to establish an astroturf on the campus. That original project was completed in the mid-2010s.
Current headmistress Melanie Scholtz and former headmistress Eliza Meyer took part in the unveiling on Thursday, 23 July.
The naming links the upgraded facility to Cowan's contribution to hockey development and the school's sporting history.
