Potchefstroom Gimnasium won seven of the nine rugby matches reported from its Noordvaal Virsekerbeker programme against Hoërskool Brandwag.
Brandwag won the first-team match 32–30 with a penalty after the final hooter. Gimmies nevertheless secured four quarter-final places through its broader set of results.
The Potchefstroom school recorded wins for the under-14A, under-14B, under-15A, under-15B, under-16B, under-19C and second teams. Brandwag won the under-16A match as well as the first-team fixture.
Gimmies now turns its attention to the quarter-final stage of the competition.
