Hoër Volkskool Potchefstroom hosted the 2026 Irene Seymore netball tournament from 16 to 18 July, bringing school teams from across South Africa to Potch.
Twelve schools from Gauteng, North West, the Free State, Mpumalanga and the Northern Cape competed in the under-14 to under-19 age groups. The tournament is named after former Potch Volkies netball coach Irene Seymore.
Volkies' under-15A and under-16A teams both finished sixth overall. The under-15A side lost 14–21 to Nelspruit, while the under-16A team went down 14–15 to Monument in a close fifth-place playoff.
Helpmekaar and Menlopark were the leading schools across the age groups. Organisers said the tournament again showed the depth of school netball and gave teams valuable preparation for the South African Schools Netball Championships.
